Nong Lam University - Ho Chi Minh (NLU) recently held a working session with a delegation from South Korean universities, including Chungnam National University, to strengthen strategic cooperation under the government-supported Bio-Green initiative. The partnership focuses on innovative education, academic mobility, and joint research aligned with global labor market demands.

A key highlight was the introduction of a Micro-degree system, enabling students to take specialized online courses from Korean universities and earn transferable credits or certificates. These courses, scheduled to launch this December, will initially feature English subtitles, with plans to expand to fully English-taught programs.
Both sides emphasized student and faculty mobility through credit transfer, exchange programs, summer courses, and short-term study tours. NLU’s English-taught programs in Food Technology, Veterinary Medicine, and Animal Science were identified as strong foundations for collaboration.
The meeting also explored bilateral research for 2025–2027 in green technology, biotechnology, and AI, alongside plans to establish a Vietnam–Korea University-Industry Network. NLU invited the Korean partners to its upcoming international conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Environment this November, marking a significant step in advancing NLU’s internationalization strategy.
On March 25, 2025, a meeting was held at Nong Lam University Ho Chi Minh City (NLU) to discuss future collaboration on double degree for Master’s degree with the Graduate School of Environment, Life, Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University, Japan. In the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phan Tai Huan expressed enthusiasm for strengthening cooperation between the two universities in the future. He also suggested the potential establishment of an Okayama University Office at NLU. As program advisors of the Graduate School of Environment, Life, Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University, Additionally, 04 professors introduced student exchange programs, Jasso scholarship and warmly welcomed NLU’s students and faculty to study at Okayama University under MEXT scholarship.

This meeting marks an important step in fostering deeper academic and research collaboration between NLU and Okayama University, paving the way for numerous opportunities in education and research for both institutions.

On 21st January, Research Center for Climate Change (RCCC) of Nong Lam University – Ho Chi Minh City held a seminar on climate change with 6 professors from Wollonggong University, Australia. The two sides discussed and shared useful information as well as their latest research on climate change in Vietnam. Especially Dr. Nguyen Kim Loi - Director of RCCC had an impressive presentation on this topic. Besides, there were also Vietnamese graduate students participating in this event. After the successful seminar, the representatives of the two institutions learned a lot from each other and hoped to have a good collaboration in the future.

New Colombo project will support Australia university students for studying in 38 countries across South Asia, Southeast Asia, North Asia and some countries in Pacific Ocean including Vietnam.
In order to promote New Colombo program, the representatives of Australian Ambassy including Ms. Kim Cleary - Science and Education Counselor, Tran Le Ha - Vice Director of Australian International Education and Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Phuong Nga - Senior Consultant had a meeting with Nong Lam University – Ho Chi Minh City on November 11th.
The members of Nong Lam University – Ho Chi Minh City consisted of Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Hay - President, Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Phu Hoa, Deputy Head of Science Research and Management, MA. Luu Dinh Phuc, Vice Director of Center for International Edcuation and the Boards of Dean from Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine and Food Technology.
During the meeting, Ms. Kim Cleary was very interested in the Advanced Animal Science and Veterinary program and Advanced Food Technology program as well as study tour programs and short term courses. She also hoped that there would be many Australian students to apply for those programs in 2015.
On December 12th, Nong Lam University – Ho Chi Minh City welcomed a European delegation of 5 specialists. The members of Nong Lam University were Dr. Duong Duy Dong, Vice President, Dr.Nguyen Ngoc Thuy – Head of International Cooperation and the Boards of Dean from Faculty of Food Technology and Faculty of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.
The purpose of the visit is to launch the scholarship Eramus Mundus + for Vietnamese students. The specialists was hoping that there would be a lot of Nong Lam University to participate in this scholarship.
